Paso Doble

Literally meaning “Two Step” in Spanish, the Paso Doble is named after the marching rhythm of the matador at the start of a bull fight in southern Spain. This dance is a dramatic interpretation of the matador facing the bull in a traditional Spanish bull fight. The Man is the matador and the lady is the cape meaning she makes swirling circular motions around the man as to distract the bull from his attacker. Paso Doble is truly unique in the world of ballroom dancing and mastering it is a true challenge for any dancer.
